Laura Russell

Wedding Manager

Laura joined the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in the summer of 2019 and brought twenty years of experience in hospitality with her. Having worked in both the corporate and wedding industries, Laura’s little black book full of trusted suppliers made the journey with her.

Laura looks after the wedding team and a number of the weddings here and loves that no two are the same. She also loves seeing what is important to each couple for their big day and hearing their engagement stories.

Having looked after more than a thousand weddings in her time, some of Laura’s stand out moments involve unicorns, a red Vera Wang bridal gown, mariachi bands, prima ballerinas, drag queens and an RAF fly past.

Jessica Paton

Wedding Specialist

Jessica began her career at the Old Course Hotel in 2020, starting out in our Pro Shop before completing a work placement in the Events department, where she has been ever since. After discovering her love for weddings, she was promoted to Wedding Specialist in 2023.

Jess loves getting to know each couple and seeing their wedding go from vision boards to their perfectly tailored day; from champagne showers to fudge doughnut cakes! Watching your friends and family come together to celebrate and dance the night away with you as newlyweds is a truly beautiful moment.

Her favourite wedding space is the Conservatory because of its versatility. From grand to intimate ceremonies, drinks receptions to a candlelit wedding breakfast. Jess’ favourite wedding season is Autumn, with the colours, crisp air, rustic décor, and sparklers making for a truly magical day!

Jessica’s wedding skill is making sure the entire process is a fun, memorable and stress-free experience from your initial showround, to walking down the aisle (on time!).

Wedding Top Tip- Trust your gut and have fun. Don’t worry about what you should be doing or what you think someone else wants you to do, it’s your day! Use your wedding coordinator and don’t worry about how many questions, that’s what we’re here for.

Jordan Anderson

Wedding Coordinator

Jordan has been part of the events team since September 2021 but has worked in hospitality at the Old Course Hotel for seven years, starting in food & beverage but always wanting to be on the other side to bring the day together. She loves being part of couple’s special day and helping to make the day as magical as possible. She also loves that every wedding is unique, meaning you never experience the same wedding twice.

The Hall of Champions is without a doubt Jordan’s favourite wedding space at the hotel, a grand and versatile space that can accommodate weddings of all sizes and variations. Summer is her favourite wedding season as the sun shines down on the golf course and if your ceremony is on site the Conservatory is a gorgeous sun trap.

Jordan’s secret wedding skill is sneaking the groom a dram of whisky before the ceremony to calm the pre-wedding nerves and her most memorable moment is a bridesmaid’s dress bursting just before the ceremony- Jordan saved the day sewing the dress back together before they walked down the aisle which is another great skill she has!

Wedding Top Tip- Always be sure to let your wedding planner know your favourite drink so they can make sure it is available on your special day and continuously topped up – never have an empty glass!

Caitlin Johnston

Wedding Coordinator

Caitlin began her journey in hospitality at the Old Course Hotel in August 2019, where she started in housekeeping before moving to the restaurant & kitchen, then to reception until she finally found her place in the events team.

Caitlin’s favourite part about weddings is seeing the couple meet at the end of the aisle for their ceremony, she just loves seeing how happy they both look. Her favourite function space has to be the Conservatory – a gorgeous bright space overlooking the beautiful Old Course and the famous Hamilton Grand. It’s the perfect place to say I do!

A winter wedding is Caitlin’s favourite, as this is a time of year where everyone is inside and spending time with family, there’s always a very cosy and intimate atmosphere especially around Christmas time when the hotel is beautifully decorated!

Wedding Top Tip- Savour every moment… it is very easy to get caught up in the stress of your big day. Every little while stop for a second to take it all in, watch all your family and friends having a great time celebrating your special day and cherish every second.
